Three years of aging in oak barrels is the minimum to qualify for the “old rum” designation. This variationV.O. (Very Old) Single Cask of pure cane juice rum Manutea Tahiti comes from a single barrel having previously contained Banyuls, a natural sweet wine from the South of France which develops a palette of candied fruits around prune and fig complemented by roasted notes with nuances of coffee and cocoa. Aging in barrels gives the cane brandy its touches of spices, tobacco and leather. The alcohol is generous with a well-integrated sweetness and a lingering finish where the licorice from the O’Tahiti cane mixes with the candied prune.
